The Middle East Consortium on Infectious Disease Surveillance (MECIDS) advances the capabilities for early infectious disease detection, control, and response between its member countries of Jordan, Palestine and Israel. The intention is to expand network membership to all countries in the region.

MECIDS was set up in 2003 by Search for Common Ground with a foundational grant from NTI and both organizations continue to work in close partnership to support it. MECIDS has facilitated cross-border health cooperation and continually works to guard against threats posed by contagious disease outbreaks and food-borne illnesses. In addition, we offer training courses and workshops for multinational health workers from the region.

MECIDS members will find this site useful to communicate with one another, post bulletins about new disease outbreaks, and report on avian influenza cases though a secure password protected area.
